Most people have heard of Christopher Columbus and his ships called the Nina and the Pinta. But, what many people don’t know is that Fort Smith has the same exact replicas! The Nina and Pinta look alike will be docked for seven days. They are going to be traveling down the Mississippi river, then up the Arkansas river stopping in two states for people to tour the ships. Both of the ships were constructed in Valence, Brazil by eight generation Portuguese ship rights. “These ships were built entirely by hand, the Nina is the most accurate replica ever constructed.” said Stephen Sangern. The ships are open for people to look at each day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The admission is $8 for adults, $7 for the seniors, and $6 for students 5 to 16.
