This week guests from the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine came to visit eighth grade students in career development. ARCOM is a new medical school located in Fort Smith, and they came to talk to students about the possibilities of becoming a medical student. Mr. Smothers stated, “One of the things that Dr. Bridges shared with the students was a fun science demonstration. Dr. Bridges brought liquid nitrogen, and made liquid nitrogen ice cubes for the students.” They also mentioned that to be a medical student you have to take several science and math classes. ARCOM also brought a student Dr. to speak to the students about course work, tuition, and the rigor of pursuing a career as a physician.
