On February 22nd, the Chaffin Cougars took on the Kimmon Raiders in what was the last time that Chaffin would host 9th grade basketball. This was the team’s last home game, and this was also their freshman night. Before each game, the freshmen were honored for the basketball teams as well as the spirit teams.

The 9th grade girls played at 5:00. For the halftime performance, the spirit teams did their cheer-charmer dance. At halftime, the team was losing 8-16. Unfortunately they ended up losing the game 30-38.

The 9th grade boys played at 6:00. For their halftime performance, the cheer and dance team did their freshman performance. The boys ended up winning 34-32 after a nail-biting double overtime showdown. After sinking some crucial free-throws in the second overtime, it was obvious that the Raiders just couldn’t overtake the Cougars.

After their game on Thursday, February 25th against the Ramsey Rams, the 9th grade boy’s basketball team ended their season 11-3 and 2nd in the conference. Well done Cougars and Coach Lucas!
