Going along with the plans to begin renovations at high school across Fort Smith to fit 9th graders, the high schools in Fort Smith have recently shared pictures and videos of a sneak peek of the freshmen centers in the high schools that will soon roll along for the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year. Not only are the new freshmen centers coming along, but both high schools made the ultimate decision to renovate the common areas and add new buildings such as the cafeterias, gyms, and tornado shelters.

The renovations cost a grand total of $45 million. They will also help with the undersizing of gyms and cafeterias. While the renovations were a part of the focus for Vision Strategic 2023, the plan also covers career planning, equity, instruction, learning environment and facilities, staffing, technology, and wellness. In all, with the PEAK Innovation Center coming on as well, the 2021-2022 school year will be guaranteed the best school year yet.

What do you think of the renovations? What are you mostly excited about? Let us know what you think in the comments!
