Chaffin Kids Are Track Stars

On Thursday, April 15th Chaffin hosted a 7th and 8th grade track meet. Chaffin dominated, scoring 156 (7th grade girls), 191 (8th grade girls), and 210 (8th grade boys) to win three of the four divisions. 7th grade girls scored 123, coming in second place to Ramsey, 194. Placing first in 30 of the 68 events, Chaffin won both girls and boys 8th grade 800-meter relay.
In 7th grade, Ethan Dunn took first place in the 300-meter hurdles, shot put, and 110-meter hurdles. 7th grade girls won the 400-meter relay. Macie McKinley won the 7th grade girls high jump, long jump, and 100-meter hurdles, Ava Falcon won the 7th grade girls shotput. Jerry Mullins, Jaylen Chavez, Darrion Paxton, and Maddox Perez won the 7th grade boys 800-meter relay, Emery Liggett, Kamryn Webb, Ava Falcon, and Grace Kuykendall won the 7th girls 800-meter relay, Darrion Paxton won the 7th grade boys triple jump, and Kailyn Webb won the 7th grade girls triple jump. In total 7th grade, boys ranked 2nd place and 7th grade girls ranked 1st.
Kari Carter won the 8th grade girls 200-meter dash, 100-meter dash, and long jump. Cam Massey won the 8th grade boys 200-meter dash, long jump, high jump, 100-meter dash, and 100-meter hurdles. Christian Franco won the 8th grade boys 300-meter hurdles and Gunner Smith won the 8th grade boys discus. Angel Hernandez won the 8th grade boys 1600-meter run, Malia Burnett won the 8th grade girls 400-meter dash, and Grace Klein won the 8th grade girls triple jump. Christian Franco, McClane Moody, Kevin Nguyen, and Jayden Webb won the 8th grade boys 400-meter relay. Last but finally Malia Burnett, Kari Carter, Grae Klein, and Addisyn Harris won the 8th grade girls 400-meter relay. In total 8th grade girls ranked 1st place and so did the 8th grade boys.
Congratulations to all the people who won. They worked hard and are working harder for the last and final track meet on April 20, Next Tuesday.
