Iowa Governor Signs Contract Banning Transgender Girls from Playing Sports

Iowa becomes the 11th state to pass a law prevent transgender students from playing school sports. Kim Reynolds signed into a law on Thursday, March 3rd, that prohibits transgender females from participating in girls sports. “No amount of talent, training or effort can make up for the natural physical advantage males have over females,” she says, “It’s simply a reality of human biology. Forcing females to compete against males is the opposite of inclusivity, and its absolutely unfair.”

Thousands of transgender women are furious about this news including 21 year old Jazz Jennings. She states that at the young age of 8 years old, she was banned from playing soccer. Her exact words were, “These bills are discriminatory, have no merit and will have a negative affect on transgender youth.” Jazz has still been hurt by this to this day, and she has still reported her own opinion on this. The video states that her and her family were initially “devastated” and had to wait two years so that Jazz could start playing again.
