The game is set in a world where Batman is dead and his previous four sidekicks are left to save Gotham City from its newer threats, like the main villain of the game, the Court of Owls. These four sidekicks include Nightwing, Red Hood, Robin, and Batgirl. Nightwing being Batman’s first robin, Dick Grayson, who Bruce Wayne adopted after Grayson had to suffer the loss of his parents. Then there is Red Hood, Batman’s second robin who died at the hands of the Joker, but came back angry and lethal. In this game though, Jason has retaliated at killing and now has restraint when it comes to taking a life. Then there is the current robin, Tim Drake, who found out who Batman was and forced Batman to make him the hero he is today. Lastly there is Batgirl, the daughter of Batman’s ally Commissioner Gordon. She was once handicapped, but after physical therapy and training, she is ready for the field.

In terms of game mechanics, there will be similar mechanics from the Arkham games put into Gotham Knights. The Arkham games were a previous four Batman games that let you put on the batsuit and take criminals like the Joker, Scarecrow, Black Mask, Two-Face, Penguin, and more down. But it is also said that Gotham Knights will have its own unique levelling system. It has also been said that two players can team up as one of the two heroes in co-op, and play the story together. Other than that, not much is known.
