Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Book Review
March 17, 2023
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is an action-comedy film produced by DreamWorks and Universal Animation studios, directed by Joel Crawford, and premiered in theaters on December 21, 2022. It has a 95% on rotten tomatoes, and was rated 4.8 stars by general audiences. It was nominated for Best animated feature film.
The movie is about Puss in Boots, and his companions trying to get the last wish, each for their own reasons. The main cast consists of Kitty Softpaws, Perrito, Goldilocks and the three bears, and Big Jack Horner. Each of them is trying to get the wish for their own reasons. The movie revolves around the relationships of all of these characters.
The Movie begins with Puss throwing a party at a rich person’s house, and accidentally waking up a stone giant. After defeating the giant with a church tower bell, he is about to continue the song when the bell suddenly crushes him. He wakes back up after a while, and a doctor tells him that he died. Puss is a cat, so he has nine lives, but after recounting how many times he died before, the doctor tells him that he is on his last life.
The doctor tells him to stop adventuring, but Puss doesn’t want to. So, Puss gets to a bar, and he meets a certain bounty hunter who wants him dead. Normally, Puss wouldn’t be afraid of some bounty hunter, but this one seems to counter his every move perfectly, so Puss runs away. He ends up hiding with a crazy old cat lady, and he buries his old costume, pronouncing Puss in Boots to be dead. What he didn’t know is that a certain little chihuahua was about to help him go on the adventure of a lifetime.
I really like this movie, it has the main theme of living life to its fullest, and helping others do the same. It also has the best villain ever, Big Jack Horner. Jack is the most evil, unnecessarily cruel villain ever. There is no spark of mercy, goodness, or any morality whatsoever. Then there is the opposite with Perrito, who is adorable, and always optimistic. Goldilocks and the bears are good too. All in all, it was a very fun, enjoyable movie.
